503 – Kiwi Brand fruit knife with a four inch blade and a hardwood handle.

The Kiwi Brand model 503 is a small and elegant fruit knife made from Japanese SUS 420J2 high carbon stainless steel with a wooden handle. It is a light-weight paring knife which is great for performing kitchen tasks with ease. It is especially suited for working with small ingredients such as strawberries, nectarines, lychees, etc.

Ergonomic and well balanced, specially designed to make light work of common paring tasks. The distinctive blade is around 4 inches long, the blade extends about 1/3 of the way down the 3.5 inch handle with a thickness of 1mm and width of 1 inch at the base. – See diagram for the full specification.

The Kiwi Brand 503 is a light and durable cutting tool with a great balance between blade and handle, the fruit knife is a great choice for handheld cutting in which accuracy and lightness are important. A perfect choice repetitious tasks such as trimming and de-seeding.

The double bevelled, razor sharp blade is made from Japanese martensitic stainless steel (SUS420J2). This is a high carbon stainless steel alloy that has been specially heat treated and tempered to ensure optimal sharpness and unrivalled durability.  The handle is made from natural ironwood and so will benefit from the occasional application of a food grade oil, to help maintain the health of the wood, avoiding shrinkage and keeping the handle looking like new.
